A very old and beautiful 1930s snare.
Ajax Nickel plated over brass duel snare 14” x 6.5”
Hawkes Merged with Boosey in 1930 and the pyramid badge was introduced in 1935. Ajax had a close relationship with the Ludwig and Leedy companies in America. This drum has the early Leedy ‘Bow-Tie’ or ‘X-Lugs’ found on many mid 1930’s drums.
The upper snare mechanism is present but not the snare wires. This drum is remarkably original and complete.
Made back in the days when drums were highly engineered and build like tanks.
This drum is is in full working order apart from part of the top head snare assembly. Lots of mojo and getting very hard to find.
